Sippy Downs Drive Time-Lapse

Sippy Downs is a dynamic and growing community on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, known as an education hub with the University of the Sunshine Coast, state and private schools. Together with a diverse mix of urban precincts; residential land and apartment living, shops, cafes and restaurants, its a vibrant place to live. Due to the area’s growth a timely upgrade of Sippy Downs Drive, from two lanes to four lanes, was undertaken by Sunshine Coast Council and Aerial View Photography was engaged to provide Time-lapse cameras at various locations along the construction site. Due to the length of the project obtaining adequate height to capture the extend of the works was crucial. After deliberations with SCC it was decided to utilise 12m high timber power poles that council had in their possession. Using a boom lift to access the top of the poles provided a suitable mounting location for the cameras to gain the desired field of view. Valuable imagery and data were provided to project managers via an online photo gallery to assist keeping the project on target.
